UniBrass line up announced

There will be 17 bands and plenty of music making opportunities to enjoy at the forthcoming UniBrass Championship on 14th February.

The UniBrass 2015 Championship is fast approaching, with the popular student event once more attracting bands from all over the country to the Warwick University Arts Centre on Saturday 14th February.

Free workshops and gala concert

Not only will 17 bands take to the stage to provide the excellent, highly competitive brass band music making, but there is also the added attraction of free workshop masterclasses with players from Cory Band as well as a gala concert to round things off from Jaguar Land Rover Band.

There will also be trade stalls available during the day and the closing ceremony will be featuring the world premiere of ‘UniTed’ by Dave Collins recorded as part of the UniTour project back in October.

Fantastic music making

The schedule of events and performances has now been released by the organisers, so why not take a trip (and there is always a great atmosphere) and enjoy 12 hours or more of fantastic music making.

9.45am: FREE all age workshops with Cory Academy

10:00am: Keele University Brass Band
10:30am: Durham University Brass Band
11:00am: University of York Brass Band
11:30am: Oxford University Brass Band
12:00am: University of Huddersfield Brass Band
12:30am: Leeds University Brass Band

1:00pm: Cory Academy Workshop Concert — with guest performance from Owen Farr, Chris Thomas, Tom Hutchinson and Steph Wilkins.

The Marple Band

March 13 • Cornet ( positions negotiable),baritone and kit percussionist vacancies to join our fabulous band. We are a friendly ambitious 2nd Section band, starting an exciting new musical journey with our MD Nick Birch.


Rushden Town Band

March 12 • Back Row Cornet - due to a change in job, the band has a vacancy for a back row cornet. The band has a lovely atmosphere, and has regular jobs throughout the year as well as taking part in at least two contests.

March 12 • 2nd Trombone - due to work relocation of previous player. A fun loving band who have many regular jobs throughout the year as well as competing in at least two contests each year.
