4BR set for Manchester and Lille

4BR will be reporting from two major brass band events this weekend — the RNCM Festival of Bras sin Manchester and the French National Championship in Lille.

4BR will be covering two major events in the UK and Europe over the weekend.

RNCM Festival of Brass

The RNCM Festival of Brass takes place in Manchester, where a host of the banding world’s finest bands, ensembles and soloists will showcase an array of major new and existing repertoire for the medium.

Malcolm Wood will be there is to listen to the performances which this year include five major premieres from Martin Ellerby, Bramwell Tovey, Gavin Higgins, Lucy Pankhurst and Andrew Baker.

Meanwhile, 4BR Editor Iwan Fox will be catching the Eurostar train to head to Lille in France to report live from the 2015 French National Brass Band Championship, which is being held at the impressive Nouveau Siecle Concert Hall — home to Orchestre National de Lille, and the venue for the 2016 European Brass Band Championships.
