Rainford look for melody makers

If you are a budding slow melody making champion then make sure you sign up for the Rainford Slow Melody Contest in February.

The Rainford Band is now receiving entries for their second annual Slow Melody Contest on Sunday 15th February.

Looking forward

With less than four weeks to go the band is really looking forward to the day and working with Lesley Poole and David Thornton to help promote slow melody contests in the North West.

Five sections:

The day will comprise of 5 sections:

12 & Under:
16 & Under:
Open Age:
Duet:
Ensemble:

Prizes

Prizes for each section are:

1st Place: £40, trophy, medal and certificate (glass trophy for ensemble section instead of medals)
2nd Place: £20, medal and certificate
3rd Place: £10, medal and certificate

Confident

A spokesperson told 4BR: “We had a great turn out in 2014 for our first contest and we are confident that we will receive more entries this year and consolidate this contest and an annual event moving forwards.”

Enderby Band

March 24 • Enderby Band (Championship section) are seeking: 1 x BASS (Eb or Bb) and PERCUSSIONISTS to join our committed, hard-working, friendly team, with promotion at the Spring Festival (Senior Cup) and a balanced diary of concerts & contests to look forward to.


Chinnor Silver

March 23 • Our COMMUNITY BAND are meeting again on Monday (30th) at 11am and we welcome players of all abilities to join us in a friendly relaxed rehearsal.. It does not affect your main band and is all free including the cake and coffee.
