Interview with Kevin Holdgate

4BR Editor Iwan Fox talks to Kevin Holdgate about the success of the Trombones against Cancer charity initiative at Butlins this year.

Troms against Cancer

Kevin Holdgate has been speaking to 4BR about the success of his recent ‘Trombones against Cancer’ charity initiative which saw a remarkable 105 players raise around £2000 for Breast Cancer Research at the Butlins Mineworkers Championship in Skegness.

Overwhelmed

In an interview soon after he left the stage, he told 4BR that he was overwhelmed by the response he has received and the support that has come from so many different people within the brass band movement.

He told 4BR: “I must thank Stan Lippeatt for conducting us, Steve Walker and the team at Butlins for allowing me time in the hectic schedule, the wonderful ladies of Boobs & Brass who collected over £1000 in their buckets on the evening and sold the Polo Shirts on the trade stand, and also the valuable support of 4BR for keeping the event in the public eye."

All of the new compositions were well received by the audience and I would like to publicly thank all of the composers for donating their talent to my eventKevin Holdgate
