Lithuanian euphonium star Algirdas Matonis is the latest high profile performer to opt to perform on a Sterling Virtuoso Euphonium.

Reputation

Regarded as one of the finest euphonium performers in Europe, Algirdas has gained an enviable reputation as a soloist — winning numerous high profile competitions and performing as a featured artist with ensembles as diverse as the Lithuanian Military Band, numerous brass bands and orchestral ensembles.

A graduate of the RNCM in Manchester, he was invited to perform at 2012 ITEC held in Austria as well as 2014 ITEC in USA. In 2013 Algirdas won the ‘Fodens’ Open Solo Competition.

Busy schedule

He currently enjoys a busy schedule of performances throughout Europe and recently performed an opening recital at the renowned Lithuania music festival, ’Sugrizimai‘. He will also be touring in America on October as a guest soloist with the River City Brass Band.
