There will be something of a musical first in North Wales in 2015, when the New York Staff Band of The Salvation Army will perform in concert at Glyndŵr University in Wrexham in June.
First time
It will be the first time in the band’s 125 year history that they will visit North Wales, with the event being part of the Salvation Army’s 150th anniversary celebrations. Wrexham’s own branch of the Salvation Army is hosting the event.

Huge honour
Spokesman Major IanMcCredie told 4BR: “The band is only performing at four venues outside London, so we are hugely honoured to have them visiting us in Wrexham. Some of the world’s finest brass soloists play in the band and they command huge respect within the brass band community.
It’s hugely exciting for everyone involved with brass bands through to those with simply an interest in our music.”
