Motor City Brass Band will give the 400th concert performance of its 20 year history in Dearborn Michigan later this month.
Sounds of the Season
The band, which is based in Metro Detroit, will give its annual ‘Sounds of the Season’ holiday concert at the Ford Community Performing Arts Center, with MD Craig Strain, telling 4BR that he is proud that the band has been able to provide high class music making to the Detroit community for so many years.
“As we mark our 400th performance, I think back to all the great musicians who have helped make MCBB what it is today; a world-class organisation that has touched thousands of lives," he said.
"It’s with great pride that I reflect on our impact we have had on our audiences through the joy of music."

Special reception
‘Sounds of the Season’ will feature more than a dozen holiday favorites that are sure to entertain audience members of all ages, whilst the band will also host a special reception to honour the milestone performance.
"Their 400th performance is really a tribute to their success as musicians," said Mary Rankovich, a Motor City Brass Band volunteer.
"It's great that it falls on one of their biggest performances of the season, so we can properly commemorate the milestone."
Traditional roots
MCBB has roots in the rich, British brass band tradition in the USA, and it has been instrumental in promoting its current revival.
The band, which is currently comprised of 33 volunteer brass musicians and percussionists, performs in a variety of venues throughout the year in a wide range of musical styles, including classical, jazz and pop.
