Music Expo looking for Fanfare entries

One of the biggest conference exhibitions in the UK is in need of a few fanfares to welcome its guests...

Expo

Music Education Expo 2015 — the UK’s largest exhibition and conference for music teachers, is taking place on the 12th & 13th March 2105, at Barbican Exhibition Hall 2 in London.

Fanfare competition

It is also launching a new initiative aimed at giving young composers a chance to be heard at the event, with a Fanfare Composition Competition.

The aim is to get the Expo hall ringing to the sound of a specially commissioned fanfares with composers aged 16 and under and 18 and under asked to submit a work for up to eight instruments, comprising up to four B flat trumpets and up to four B flat tenor trombones.

Minute and a half

Submissions should last no longer than a minute and a half and the fanfares should aim to grip the attention of the large crowds at the Expo, and be a complete, self-contained musical form.

Scores can be submitted either by email or post. Electronic scores will be accepted in Sibelius, PDF or standard graphic formats.
