Loxley Silver Band is to travel to Cornwall this week from Sheffield to join the folk-rock band ‘Love Street’ at their ‘Both Sides of the Door’ album launch at the famous Eden Project.
Backing
Earlier in the year Loxley spent a day in Sheffield’s Red Tape recording studio with Love Street putting down the backing for their latest single, ‘Susanna’, which was released at the beginning of the month.
‘Susanna’, written by Love Street’s Jules Clark, tells the story of the Sheffield Pals Battalion and their tragic sacrifice in the First World War on 1st July 1916.
Award winning
The band engaged the services of composer Darrol Barry, to provide the backing score for the single, which was produced by the award-winning producer, George Schilling, before being sent to New York to be mastered by Greg Calibi, at Sterling Sound, who also mastered Paul Simon’s famous ‘Graceland’ LP.
‘Susanna’ has been featured on several radio stations nationwide including BBC Radio Sheffield where Andy Crane referred to Love Street as ‘…the English Eagles’.

He added: “Next year we have an even greater challenge, as we will be entering the Fourth Section, which is a significant step forward.”
