Langholm look forward to 200th anniversary with CD release

The oldest continuous brass band in Scotland will be celebrating its 200th birthday next year with their new CD.

Langholm Town Band recently launched their bi-centennial celebration CD entitled, ‘200 Years of Langholm Town Band 1815 — 2015’ at a special concert in their home town.

Hard work

The concert was the culmination of months of planning and preparation under MD Chris Shanks, as well as lots of hard work and practice that went into the release, which marks the band’s 200th anniversary in 2015.

The band played its entertainment prize winning programme from the recent Borders Brass Band Association Entertainment Contest in Peebles, along with a number of tracks from the CD itself.

The CD features 21 tracks and has something for everyone to enjoy and was produced by World of SoundLangholm Band
