The internationally renowned soloist Jason Ham, principal euphonium of the famous West Point Band of the United States Military, has recently performed Tom Davoren’s concertino ‘Proverbially’ at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Season of Giving
The soloist performed alongside the acclaimed Montclair State University Wind Symphony as part of the city’s 'Season of Giving' Gala Concert performances, which this year also featured huge street parades and a performance from Marie Osmond to help raise funds for local high school instrument programmes.
It was Ham's third performance at the iconic venue, making him it's most returned euphonium soloist.
Delighted
The composer was also delighted to be able to fly to New York to hear him play the brand new wind orchestra version by renowned composer Dorothy Gates of a brass band work he originally wrote for the talents of Belgian star Glenn Van Looy.

Added bonus
Tom told 4BR: “Jason gave a truly magnificent performance — with the added bonus that it was delivered at such an iconic musical venue. I can’t thank him or Dorothy enough.
After getting to know Jason at a music conference in 2013 it's been a real pleasure to have him perform my music. The fact that it was also in such an incredible venue and supported such a good cause was a wonderful bonus.”
