The Leyland Band’s recent masterclass led by Richard Evans went down a treat with brass players from all over County Durham

Richard and leading players from the North West band gave a day of masterclasses consisting of sectionals, as well as full band rehearsals.

One delegate told 4BR: “Having section leaders from Leyland impart their wisdom in small groups was a huge bonus and really allowed for some fine tuning of the niche areas of playing.”

Joint concert

The day was concluded with a great joint concert at the wonderful Durham Town Hall, where both the masterclass band and Leyland, who gave a reprise of their Brass in Concert programme performed to an appreciative audience.
