There were delighted smiles on the faces of the entire cornet section of the Harrogate Band at their most recent concert appearance, as the players made their debut performances on their brand new Geneva cornets.
Working wonders
The players recently took possession of their Symphony instruments — and it seems to be working wonders.
“It’s great for the sound of the band,” said Neil Richmond, Harrogate’s founder and President.
“The overall quality of tone has improved instantly and you can hear the positive effect they’ve had on both tuning and intonation.”
Taken to Geneva
Front row cornet player Nick Garrett agreed: “I’ve recently been playing on my own Sovereign 928, which I’ve always considered the best cornet for front row work.
However, I’ve really taken to the Geneva. It’s great for the shift work you put in on the front row: It plays beautifully all the way up the register and gives me great control when playing solos.”

Worked hard
Geneva Managing Director Craig Buchan was delighted with the feedback from the players: “It's great that the players love the cornets as we've worked really hard on developing and testing these instruments.
We believe the build quality on these is the best in the market and that's why bands like Harrogate choose Geneva."
