Brass Bands England (BBE) has opened applications for its newly-created Operations Manager post, a pivotal full-time role based at the organisation’s Barnsley headquarters.
The post, which offers an annual salary of £28,000-£30,000, has been funded as a result of Brass Bands England’s recent financial boost from Arts Council England.

According the BBE Chairman Mike Kilroy, the new position is at the heart of its future plans for expansion.
“We are obviously extremely excited about the opportunities that this new full-time role brings for the development of brass banding throughout England,” he told 4BR.
“The successful candidate will work closely with our Liaison Officer Rachel Veitch-Straw and two other liaison officers, who will be appointed during the next few months.
It is hoped that the Operations Manager post will be filled early in 2015, with the new operation fully functioning by the beginning of April.”
Mike also added that the new pot will enable BBE to focus their efforts in engaging directly with bands throughout the country.
He added: “It’s well documented that during the past twelve months, the amount of public money for bands in England has increased from around £20,000 to over £300,000.
Our new infrastructure will provide opportunities for even further growth in the future, as well as enhanced benefits for all of our member bands and, potentially, every band in England.”
