The 2014 ‘Double’ champion Black Dyke has announced the signing of Vicki Kennedy on second cornet.
Vicki, who studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, is a past recipient of a Harry Mortimer Memorial Trust Award and a former principal cornet of Tongwynlais Temperance Band. She has recently been playing with Grimethorpe Colliery Band.
Re-united
"I have had a great time at Grimethorpe but I’m really looking forward to joining Black Dyke and in particular being re-united with my old teacher and principal cornet Richard Marshall," Vicki told 4BR.
Return home
Richard added: “We are obviously sad to say goodbye to Philippe Graf who, after a very successful 18 months, returns to his home in Switzerland.
However, we are all delighted to welcome Vicki to the band. I know that her talent, enthusiasm and dedication has always been admired and I’m sure she will enjoy a successful time at Black Dyke".
