Kevin Holdgate’s ‘Trombones against Breast Cancer’ initiative has gained yet another high profile compositional boost.
Following the recent announcement that Darrol Barry, Simon Kerwin and Leigh Baker are writing new works for the massed trombone choir at the Butlins Mineworkers Championship, it has been announced that David Hollins and Mike Kilmartin will also provide works for the event on Saturday 17th January.
Further great news
Kevin told 4BR: "This is further great news, especially as both composers are already having their works performed as set works on the contest weekend.
This brings the total of world premieres to five, with hopefully more to come.
I’m humbled and extremely grateful to everyone for their help in supporting this event, and I’m confident that there will be further announcements to follow in the next few weeks."
