Arnold coup for Harrogate

A 50 year old military march written by Malcolm Arnold gains a new lease of life at Harrogate.

Harrogate

A march written for a military band over 50 years ago by composer Malcolm Arnold has been newly arranged for brass band and performed by the Harrogate Band in a recent concert in Ripon in Yorkshire.

Overseas

Arnold wrote ‘Overseas’ for a military band to perform at a government trade fair in New York in 1960, and Harrogate’s founder and President, Neil Richmond gained permission to arrange it the music for a premiere performance at the recent concert in aid of Christian Aid at Holy Trinity Church, Ripon.

This is a great coup for the band and it’s thanks to Neil's passion for Malcolm Arnold that we are able to bring this fantastic music into our concertsMD, Craig Ratcliffe

Coup

MD Craig Ratcliffe told 4BR: "It’s important that we continue to expand the brass band repertoire and bring new music and arrangements to audiences.

This is a great coup for the band and it’s thanks to Neil's passion for Malcolm Arnold that we are able to bring this fantastic music into our concerts."
