Brass at Guild offers early season boost

The popular Brass at the Guild Hall contest is open for entries — and the chance for an early season test piece cash boost.

Guild Hall

There will be a real chance for bands to give their 2015 contesting season an early boost in February next year with entries now open for the popular Brass at the Guild Hall event.

Double choice

Bands will have the opportunity to showcase either their set work for the forthcoming Area contests or the recently held Butlins Mineworkers Championship, as they seek to get their hands on part of the generous prize fund that is up for grabs.

In addition bands in the Championship Section event will also have the added incentive of winning a place at the Spring Festival Senior Trophy contest in May.

British Open Youth

Lancashire Contests are also pleased to announce that British Open Youth at the Guild Festival will take place in the Charter Theatre.

The prestigious British Open Brass Band title is on offer with kind permission of Karyn & Martin Mortimer, to whom Lancashire Contests are very grateful.

The format of the competition is a 20 minute own choice programme of entertaining music plus a short set piece provided by the organisers. The set piece will sent to the bands as soon as it is available after the receipt of entry.

Time and place

The contests take place at the Guild Hall and Charter Theatre on Sunday 1st February.

All entry forms and details can be found at: www.lancashirecontests.com and entries must be received by January 3rd 2015.
