This University of Salford Ensemble Competition recently took place at Peel Hall sponsored for a second year running by Geneva Instruments.

Musicians within the University competed for the David Horsfield Ensemble Shield. The judges were David Horsfield, Mark Wilkinson and Peter Christian and there were a number of very impressive arrangements from students within the Music Directorate on show.

Best Conductor: Andrew Crampton

1st Prize: The University of Salford Trombones

2nd Prize: The Andrew Crampton Quintet (conductor: Andrew Crampton)

3rd Prize: The University of Salford Euphonium & Baritone Ensemble (conductor: Becky Childs)

4th Prize: The University of Salford Cornet Ensemble
