The draws have been announced for the forthcoming Scottish Open and Scottish Challenge Shield Championships to be held at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 29th November.

The domestic First & Second Section battle in the Scottish Challenge Shield will kick off the contest day, before 17 top flight bands from both sides of Hadrian’s Wall lock horns for the Scottish Open title.

Hat trick chasers

Hat trick chasing defending champion Co-operative Funeralcare (above) will be up against a strong field of rivals on the set work, ‘Cantata for Brass Band and Percussion’ by Andrew Duncan, who is joined in the separated three man open adjudication team by Tom Davoren and Prof John Miller.

Former winners Whitburn and Fishburn return, as does last year’s runner-up Marsden Silver, whilst there are a host of other heavyweight challengers from the North of England, Yorkshire and the North West, led by London finalists Reg Vardy, Grand Shield contenders Rothwell Temperance and Senior Cup winners Wingates.
