Fishburn has become the latest top flight Championship Section band to take delivery of market leading Geneva Instruments.
Full set
The band has purchased a full set of cornets, euphoniums, basses and baritones, with Band Secretary Malcolm Usher telling 4BR that the combination of outstanding craftsmanship, sound and tuning, coupled to Geneva’s customer service was just what they were looking for.
“Geneva worked with the band, catering for our own individual needs. We are thrilled to have instruments that are fast becoming the brass players preferred choice and have been hugely impressed with the customer service offered: It is second to none.”
Delighted
One delighted player was certainly Fishburn’s solo euphonium Clive Parker.
"My first impressions of the Geneva Symphony euphonium were how good the instrument looked: The finish is top drawer." he said. "It’s so solid and well made, and has such high standards of craftsmanship.
Although I am still working in the valves, they feel so good. Blowing is very easy in the bottom register, solid in the middle and sings in the upper. It has great tuning across the range and the well positioned main tuning slide trigger makes adjustment a piece of cake.
It’s possibly the best euphonium I have ever played."
I think it goes to show that making such an important investment in the best instruments around pays dividendsFishburn Band
Winning start
There was certainly an immediate effect of playing on the Geneva instruments for the rest of the band too, with Fishburn claiming the recent Wansbeck Entertainment title.
Malcolm added: "With such an experienced adjudicator as Kevin Wadsworth complimenting us on our sound, balance and intonation I think it goes to show that making such an important investment in the best instruments around pays dividends."
