New roles on Council

The Council of the West of England Brass Band Association has appointed its officers for 2015...

Fran Calver
 

At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Council of West of England Brass Band Associations (comprising representatives from the Cornwall, Gloucestershire, South West and Wessex Brass Band Associations), the highly respected Fran Calver (left) retired as Association Chairperson, after completing 12 highly successful years in the demanding role.

Fran will however continue as Registrar, replacing Vivian Willcock who retired earlier this year after being part of the team for many years.

Successor

Meanwhile, John Woods has been voted as her successor, and will now oversee the team that plans and delivers the successful West of England Regional Championships in Torquay.

John is a well known euphonium player and administrator, and is also actively involved in the popular Weston Super Mare contest and the Brass in Concert Championship in Gateshead.
