East Yorkshire Motor Services will take to the Royal Albert Hall stage on Saturday with two new players in their ranks.
Contest and rehearsal debuts
Experienced BBb tuba player Mark Wilkinson and soprano cornet Lars Krum have signed for the Hull-based band and will make their debuts on ‘The Legend of King Arthur’ — although both players can be seen in action on Thursday evening (9th October) when MD Alan Morrison puts the band through its paces at an open rehearsal.
The free event will take place at the Albemarle Music Centre on Ferensway, Hull, from 7.30pm.
No stranger
Mark is no stranger to EYMS having being part of the band which took part in the Butlins Championship a few years ago, whilst he has also enjoyed playing with the likes of Brighouse & Rastrick, Skelmanthorpe, Yorkshire Imperial and Knottingley.
He fills the vacancy which arose when Steve Gibson had to step down for family reasons.

Looking forward
Mark told 4BR: "I'm really looking forward to being an integral part of EYMS. They are a great bunch of people and I've always really enjoyed being a part of the music they make on stage."
Meanwhile, Lars, who usually plays with the Molde Band in Norway, has come in for Kevin Donaldson, who has had to pull out of the contest because of work difficulties.
Norwegian debut
Lars, who occupied the soprano seat with Manger Musikklag for a decade, and is a regular stand-up soloist for Molde, has told the band that he is looking forward to making his National debut.
