Geneva adds Norwegian star to tuba team

Stale Johansen of Bjorsvik Brass is the latest international tuba star to opt for the Symphony sound from Geneva.

Stale

Norwegian tuba star Stale Johansen of Bjorsvik Brass has joined the international team of outstanding instrument artists at Geneva Instruments, and joins the likes of Joseph Cook in endorsing the fantastic Geneva ‘Symphony’ EEb tuba.

Stale (above) started his playing with Manger Musikklag, spending three years with them before moving to Manger Folkehogskule and then settling at Eikanger Bjorsvik.

Leading players

After 18 years with them he continues to be regarded as one of the leading tuba players in European banding, and is now solo tuba with the outstanding Bjørsvik Brass, with a busy calendar with the band in addition to numerous solo and guest engagements.

He recently made the trip over the North Sea to play with Brighouse & Rastrick at the British Open.

Finest

Stale told 4BR: "Over the years I have tested all the leading tuba brands and models, but the Geneva is the finest I have played.

The Symphony EEb also looks fabulous in both high quality bright silver plate and lacquer finish. The amazing build quality and workmanship are even more evident when you have the instrument in your hands.

I find the Symphony tuba has a full sound in all ranges; it speaks so easily and responds so well to the demands asked of it.

The characteristics of the instrument’s sound and tone remain focused and do not break up even when playing the loudest dynamics.

All precision of the intonation is impeccable, even with the normal problem notes for the tuba."

I fully recommend all tuba players to try this impressive instrument for themselvesBjorsvik tuba star Stale Johansen

Delighted

Stale concluded: "I’m delighted to be playing the Geneva Symphony EEb tuba and so impressed with the performance of the instrument — and I’m looking forward to playing it in all band and solo engagements in the future.

I fully recommend all tuba players to try this impressive instrument for themselves."
