Kingsway Printers Cleethorpes has joined the growing number of bands who have chosen to play on Geneva Instruments.
The North of England Third Section band is one of the oldest to be found in Lincolnshire, with a proud history that stretches back to 1880, and recently took delivery of brand new Geneva Symphony cornets and euphoniums.
Right choice
Band Chairman, Rob West told 4BR: "The new cornets and euphoniums look and sound fantastic. It’s the first time the band has ever been able to purchase a full section of instruments, so we wanted to make sure we made the right choice.
The nine ‘Symphony’ cornets and two ‘Symphony’ euphoniums have really given the whole band a boost and of course the players with new instruments are delighted. We have to start saving for more!"
First rate service
Rob continued: "The service from Geneva was first rate. Their representative visited our bandroom so that we could test the instruments and then again to deliver them.
We took the opportunity to have some of our older instruments serviced by Geneva and these were delivered back to us the same week. It has been a fantastic experience."
Junior band boost
The arrival of new instruments has also enabled the band to make instruments available to their flourishing junior band.
"Our junior band is growing and improving," Rob added.
"One youngster has already moved up to the senior band to sit next to his grandfather and they've persuaded mum to join as well.
We are very much a family band that works hard and enjoys our music making — and Geneva has certainly helped us to do that for many more years to come."

Support
Duncan Cartledge, Geneva Instruments Sales & Marketing Director, told 4BR: “We’ve been delighted to supply our instruments to the Kingsway Printers Cleethorpes Band and so pleased that it’s felt they have made an immediate impact.
We strive to promote and support banding at all levels, so we are thrilled to see the influx of new instruments have also benefited the younger brass players in the Cleethorpes junior band.”
