The Bergen Brass Band from Norway will be travelling to Copenhagen this weekend for a musical reunion with jazz trumpet star Jesper Riis.
Jesper has been a close friend of the nationally graded Second Section band for some time, and invited them to come to the Danish capital to perform in an innovative concert in Herlev Medborgerhus with the Copenhagen Big Band.
Diverse music
Jesper will be the featured soloist with both ensembles, whilst works by composers as diverse as Webjørn Sæther and Eric Ball will appear on the same programme.
The band will also showcase the talents of their recently appointed young principal cornet player Vebjørn Gunnarson Thunes, who is still a member of Manger Skulemusikklag, who won the Development Section of the 2014 European Youth Championships in Perth.
