We had a great response to our identity quiz on Friday, although plenty of people certainly recognised Foden’s flugel star Helen Williams — even standing with her back to camera wearing a different coloured band jacket thanks to our friends at Your Logo Here!
Brand new CD
Today we have three brand new ‘The Symphonic Euphonium’ CDs from David Childs to give away to the first three people who can answer our little Monday brain teaser.
The long awaited Chandos release sees David perform the major concertos from composers Alun Hoddinott, Karl Jenkins, Philip Wilby and Joseph Horovitz alongside the National Orchestra of Wales conducted by Bramwell Tovey.
Question:
All you have to do is tell us, which of the following bands will David be playing for at the National Finals, sponsored by Geneva Instruments, at the Royal Albert Hall in London a couple of weeks time.
a) Foden’s
b) Flowers
c) Friary Guildford
Answers:
E-mail us the answer before 12.00pm (midnight) today (29th September) with your contact telephone details at: quiz@4barsrest.com
The Friday winner was 18 year old Anne Leveridge from the wonderfully named village of Cringleford near Norwich, who plays tenor horn with the non-contesting Broadland Brass Band in Norfolk.

National Finals Pick the Winner
And whilst you are in quiz mode, why not try and win yourself a brilliant Geneva Symphony cornet as well — by picking who you think will win the National title on ‘The Legend of King Arthur’.
