The Rainford Band has announced a number of new signings, with John Breeze, Camerson Bowden Julie Backhouse and Paul Sibbert joining the ambitious North West Championship Section outfit.
John comes in on back row cornet, whilst Cameron joins on bass trombone: Both team up with horn player Julie and percussionist Paul who joined earlier in the year.
Best
Rainford's MD Gareth Brindle told 4BR: "Having played alongside Julie for a number of years at Black Dyke, I’m fully aware of the quality and experience she will bring to the band, whilst Cameron’s sound on bass trombone is one of the best I have heard.
I am really looking forwards to working with all of our new signings and I would also like to say a big thanks to Gethin Rees who has been covering the bass trombone seat for the past 12 months and is now happily moving back to Eb tuba."
Awards
The band has recently held their annual Summer Pops concerts which were a sell out on three consecutive nights, where they also announced their annual player awards.
Laura Lea took the ‘Players Player’ award with Natalie Brindle claiming the ‘Musical Directors Award’.
