Macclesfield looking for votes

It's not for independence but for a chance to win £3,000 for a great youth band organisation...

Vote now

Macclesfield Youth Band has been shortlisted for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014 and has a great chance to be awarded a grant of up to £3,000 if they can get people to vote!

Vote now

To win, the band needs as many votes as possible before the deadline of midnight on Friday 10th October.

Formed in 2005 the Macclesfield organisation can boast a youth band, junior band, training band and drum corps with over 120 members between the ages of 7 and 19 years, which participate in a programme of concerts, competitions and community events.

Initiatives

The organisation is renowned for its initiatives to enable access for all children and is proud of its record of providing instruments, tuition, low cost membership and schemes to support children with asthma and other physical and learning difficulties.

Earlier this year their youth band received a Gold award at the National Youth Brass Band Championships.

Huge boost

MYBB Chairwoman Louise Renshaw told 4BR: "The band is self financing and if we were to win it would be a huge boost to our funds.

Reaching the last four is great, but we need a real effort from the Macclesfield community to get us across the line in first place!”
