Sterling Musical Instruments has announced that Foden’s euphonium star and Sterling instrument performance artist Glyn Williams has accepted the position of UK Sales Manager with the company.

Looking forward

After having worked alongside Sterling founder Paul Riggett for a number of years in the development of the current range of Sterling instruments, Glyn told 4BR that he is now looking forward to helping expand the range even further.

"It’s a wonderful opportunity to work more closely with Paul, and to help develop the next generation of world beating instruments," he said.

"More and more top class performers are choosing Sterling thanks to a hard earned reputation for excellence and outstanding quality."

Banding world

Meanwhile, Paul is also delighted to team up with a player whose own reputation is so well known throughout the banding world.

"Glyn is rightly regarded as one of the world’s finest euphonium players, and it has been a huge boost to Sterling that he has enhanced that reputation on one of our instruments.

He is a first class musician, second to none, and with his huge technical and musical knowledge will be a huge asset to the future of the Sterling team."

Time and energy

As a result of his new position Glyn will no longer be operating as a retailer of instruments himself, but will be directing his time and energy towards working closely with Sterling dealers.

Customers will have the opportunity to benefit from Glyn’s experience in choosing from the many available options with a personal consultation, bandroom visit, or an accompanied visit to the factory, assisting them to choose their instrument.
