New MD at Audley

Rehearsals should be a bit longer than half an hour as Tom Hancock is announced as the new MD of Audley Brass.

Audley Brass has announced the appointment of Tom Hancock as their new Musical Director.

Highly successful

The current MD of Lions Junior Brass has already enjoyed success in the contest arena with the intermediate band of the highly successful Lions Youth Brass organisation — most notably at the recent Whiston Festival of Brass where Lions Junior Brass won the Junior/Training Band Section.

Looking forward

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Tom brings with him a wealth of experience playing at the top level with Roberts Bakery Band and we are really looking forward to working under his direction.

His youth and enthusiasm certainly shine through, but these qualities are reinforced by a thorough knowledge of brass band music and a maturity beyond his years."

I’m now looking forward to developing our repertoire for upcoming concerts and pushing for promotion at the Area contest next yearMD, Tom Hancock

Excited

Meanwhile, following his first rehearsal, Tom added: "I'm also very excited to embark on this new challenge in what is my first appointment as MD of a senior band.

I have to thank the band for the warm welcome I received and I’m now looking forward to developing our repertoire for upcoming concerts and pushing for promotion at the Area contest next year."
