Lofthouse add brass to marriage nuptials

Members of Lofthouse 2000 add a little bit of brass to a special banding day.

Lofthouse 2000 has helped to celebrate the marriage nuptials between principal cornet player James Whitaker and solo horn Hannah Lees in a wonderful ceremony at the local St Anne’s Church in the village of Lydgate.

Banding event

It was certainly a banding event, with James’s brother Luke as Best Man and the bride’s father John being a member of Lydgate and Dobcross, whilst Lofthouse under the baton of Andrew Bell provided the music for the entry of the bride, hymns, interlude as the happy couple signed the marriage register and final walk out of the church.

Even the ushers were an Eb tuba player and second euphonium!

Music

During the ceremony the groom even played the Salvation Army cornet solo ‘Don't Doubt Him Now’ which brought a tear to the eyes of many members of the congregation.
