The Diggle Band has appointed Alan Wycherley as their new Musical Director.

Career

The legendary soprano player enjoyed a wonderful playing career with the likes of Fairey, Fodens and Leyland amongst other top flight bands, and has also conducted for well over 30 years, latterly with Besses o’th’ Barn.

Stamped his mark

A spokesperson for the North West Area First Section band told 4BR: "The process of selection was intensive and included a large list of applicants.

Alan has already stamped his mark on the band in recent weeks leading us to six prizes at the Whit Friday March Contest(above) and the prize as ‘Best First Section Band’ at the Brighouse March & Hymn Contest."
