It has been announced that Brett Baker has taken up a permanent full time position at the University of Salford in the Directorate of Music and Performance.
Excited
Brett told 4BR: "I’m very excited about the changes taking place at Salford and the fact that I can be part of the new team that will eventually move to new premises at the Peel Park campus.
As Programme Leader for BA Music (Musical Arts) I will be involved in a number of initiatives to enhance the student experience, such as a new Saturday School, liaising with the new brass bands within the British Army, helping in a new composer’s competition, managing the smaller ensembles programme and helping to launch of a new symphony orchestra in 2015."
Relish
He added: "I relish the opportunity of continuing to work alongside colleagues such as Robin Dewhurst, Howard Evans, Duncan Winfield and Richard Rock.
Salford is legendary for producing some of the finest conductors, performers, soloists and composers and I aim to support, promote and assist the University in growing this area of the Directorate."
