New changes at Foden's

There have been a number of changes in personnel at Foden's as they set their sights on the 2014 majors.

Foden’s has announced a number of personnel changes as the North West band prepares for the second half of the 2014 contesting season starting at the British Open in September.

New players

Former Black Dyke BBb tuba player Danny Sinclair takes over from Alan Hodgkinson in the bass section, whilst the back row cornet ranks see the arrival of Robin Basu from Co-operative Funeralcare Band, who replaces Nick Lees who has left to join Grimethorpe Colliery.

The horn section welcomes Neil Raisbeck from Marsden on first horn following Chris Haigh’s decision to take a break due to the growing success of his popular ‘Jager Maestros Oompah Band, whilst Daniel Powell takes over the solo horn position from the departing Lesley Poole.

With Natsumi McDonald due to start a family in September, the solo baritone position has been filled by the arrival of Sarah Lenton from Fairey.

We would like to thank all the players who have left the band. Each has been a dedicated player who will be missedMark Wilkinson

Missed and welcome

Band Manager Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "We would like to thank all the players who have left the band. Each has been a dedicated player who will be missed.

However, we would also like to officially welcome our new signings, all of whom are very experienced and have proven track records at the highest level."
