March success
Later in the day, Wardle Academy Youth competed in Tameside and Saddleworth, playing seven contests and collecting a number of prizes along the way with their march selections of ‘Slaidburn’ and ‘Glemdene’.
They visited three Tameside venues, and at Denton Cricket Club achieved a ‘Treble’ of Highest Placed Junior, Deportment and Junior Cornet prizes, whist at Broadoak and Upper Mossley Wardle they were again the Highest Placed Junior Band.
In Saddleworth, there were further prizes at Freizeland, Lees & Springhead and Scouthead & Austerlands whilst they finished the evening at Denshaw where they were the highest placed youth band.
