Report & Results: 2014 Irvine & Dreghorn Slow Melody

Tuba star Joseph Cook was on hand to hear the next generation of young stars from the Irvine & Dreghorn Band.

The Irvine & Dreghorn Band recently hosted their Slow Melody competition for band players at their Volunteer Rooms headquarters in Irvine.

The adjudicator and guest soloist for the concert that followed was tuba star Joseph Cook. The evening started with a lovely two course meal followed by the contest results and then the concert which featured the Irvine & Dreghorn Beginners Band, Youth Band, the Senior Band — and a number of wonderful solo items from Joseph Cook.

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
