The funeral has taken place of David Turner, Stour Concert Brass’s popular solo trombone player.

Band reps

Held at St James Church in Badsey in Worcester, the music for the service was provided by a composite band of members from Stour Concert Brass, Shipston Town, Alcester Victoria, Audley, Avonbank, Bollington, Bretforton, Phoenix West Midlands and Stourport, as well as players from the blues bands and pit orchestras that David also played for.

The band was conducted by Dave Lea of Jaguar Land Rover, with the eulogy read by David’s brother Paul, who recounted his love of music, motor sport, running and his work for the Tracey Sollis Trust.

Deserved

David Birch of Shipston Town Band told 4BR: "The church was absolutely full and everyone was in agreement that David had been given the wonderful musical send off he so richly deserved."
