Well known conductor and player David Hirst was delighted to return to his home town in Yorkshire recently to appear as composer and performer at the 2014 Holmfirth Film Festival.

The high profile week-long event featured a variety of film and media themes, with David working alongside a number of celebrated musicians and composers to bring to life new sound tracks for a series of short film productions surrounding the forthcoming Tour de France, which will pass through the famous Holmfirth village next month.

David worked alongside internationally renowned composer Barry Russell, Julio d’Escrivan and Phil Maguire from the University of Huddersfield’s Sound Music Image Research Centre.
