30 bands will be taking part in one of the most famous open air brass band competitions in the world later this month, when the annual West of England Bandsman’s Festival takes place in Bugle in Cornwall.
Royal Trophy
The 90th running of the event on Saturday 21st June will also see each of the bands take part in the traditional march through the village to the contest field at 9.30am, where they will then compete for the vast haul of silverware — topped by the £1000 Championship Section first prize and prestigious 101 year old Royal Trophy.
Judges
There are seven different sections of competition for adjudicators Ian Porthouse and David Marshall, Musical Director of the Band of Her Majesty’s Coldstream Guards to enjoy, with bands from all parts of Cornwall and beyond taking part.
