No more Norman conquests at Raunds

Robin Norman has announced his decision to step down from the MD role at Raunds Temperance Band.

Raunds Temperance

After five successful years at the helm, Raunds Temperance Band has announced the resignation of Robin Norman as their full-time Musical Director.

Tremendous

Robin told 4BR: "After five tremendous years with the band, I’ve made the decision to step down with a heavy heart.

With my work as Head of Faculty at a large secondary school the workload is increasing, and with undertaking a Masters degree and I don’t feel I am able, at this time, to give the level of commitment that a band such as Raunds requires."

Tuba return

He added: "I’m not leaving to take any other full-time conducting role; rather I’m going to return to concentrating on my tuba playing whilst taking occasional guest or 'one-off' conducting engagements.

This was a tough decision as the band has worked so hard for me and is a great bunch of people. I leave with them enjoying a strong committee and membership, and I wish them all the very best for the future."

Thanks

Band Chairman Sam Goswell added: "Working with Robin over the past five years has been such an enjoyable experience.

We would like to publicly thank him for his commitment, hard work and enthusiasm and we wish Robin every success in his future ventures."
