Japanese band set for Whit Friday appearance

Neo Brass from Japan will be making a welcome visit to the Whit Friday contests this year as well as linking up with friends at Hammonds Saltaire.

Neo Brass, a British style brass band from Japan, will be making a welcome visit to the UK next month to take part in the Whit Friday march contests.

Hammonds link

The band, which has members from all over Japan, was founded by Hiroe Tada, a former member of the Hammonds Saltaire Band, and features many players who took part in the Hamamatsu Brass Band Summer School led by conductor Morgan Griffiths last summer.

The band's inaugural concert was 2012 in Sapporo, and was followed by a second annual concert in Tokyo in 2013.

Join forces

To conclude their short trip, they will join forces with Hammonds Saltaire in a special concert on Saturday 14th June at Rochdale Salvation Army.
