Members of the Fairey Band have just enjoyed what must one of the best concert gigs in banding history — after they were invited to perform for the players of the newly crowned Premier League Champions, Manchester City.
Private party
After Manuel Pellegrini’s side had clinched the title on a dramatic last day of the season, the band, in their alter ego of Acid Brass, were invited to play at the private party on Monday evening in Manchester Town Hall, where they met many of the stars, including team captain Vincent Kompany.
Impressed
A spokesperson told 4BR: "The team and VIPs were mightily impressed with the band’s unique acid house style, fuelling a party lasting until the early hours with Bollinger flowing by the bucket-load."
