Death of Stour stalwart

The death has been announced of popular trombonist David Turner of Stour Concert Brass and formerly Shipston Town Band.

Stour Concert Brass has announced the death of their popular solo trombone David Turner.

David had been a member of the band for 13 years having previously played for Shipston Town Band.

Missed

Band Secretary David Birch told 4BR: “Together with Sandra Butt and Richard Barker David formed a formidable trombone section. He also played for several big bands, a blues band and various pit orchestras. He will be missed by many.”

Funeral details will be announced when known.
