Helston Town Band’s 15 year old principal cornet player, Andy Wingham has become one of just four winners of a Young Musicians Platform announced by the prestigious Two Moors Festival.
First time
The south west classical music competition has been running since 2001, and this is the first time a cornet player has been amongst the winners of one of the £250 prizes.
Following two rounds of auditions with over 50 talented young musicians, the winners (including two cellists and a violinist) will now be invited to play a recital as part of the Two Moors Festival in October.
