Fisher makes best catch at Bilton

Stuart Fisher has just been voted 'Bandsperson of the Year' by his fellow players at Bilton Silver Band.

Bandperson of the Year

Members of the Bilton Band recently cast their votes for their ‘Bandsperson of the Year’ — with the only guidance being that they should vote for the person they felt had made the most significant contribution to the band over the previous 12 months.

Worthy winner

This year's worthy winner was Bandmaster, solo horn and committee member, Stuart Fisher who has been associated with Bilton since 1981.

Band Chairman Greg Little told 4BR: "Our recent contest results speak for themselves and are fruits borne of Stuart's patience, hard work and dedication, combined with his sound musical knowledge and experience."

He added: "Our professional MD, David Stowell may take the plaudits on the day but he will be the first to tell you that his task is made a whole lot easier by the work that Stuart does with the band behind the scenes."

The presentation was made at a special fish and chip supper held at the Bilton bandroom.
