In one of the most exciting musical collaborations of recent years, the RAF Brass Ensemble will be hosting a free concert alongside Rod Franks of the London Symphony Orchestra.
Conduct
Rod is to conduct the ensemble in music from Ravel, Debussy, Bach, Bizet and Koetsier, specially arranged for the group, which itself features many of the leading brass musicians in the RAF.
Time and place
The venue will be St Clement Danes Church, the Stand, London, on Friday 16th May at 1.10pm.
World respect
Trumpet player Ben Godfrey told 4BR: "We are really looking forward to working with Rod. He is one of the world’s most respected orchestral musicians, having performed with such distinction as principal trumpet with the likes of the Bergen Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestras for a total of 38 years."
He added: "This innovative partnership will see him lead the RAF Brass Ensemble in a new role as Musical Director. It is such an exciting development for the group, especially on such extremely challenging repertoire."

Meet and talk
In addition to the great music and playing on show, the ensemble and Rod will be available to talk, meet and greet as many people as possible after the concert.
