The popular Miners Welfare Entertainment Contest will once again take place at the Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl, South Wales, later this year.
Nationwide
Organisers have confirmed that it will also become a nationwide event as it continues to build on its recent success.
The 20 minute programme format is open to bands nationally graded from Sections 2 to 4, with the £50 entry fee fully refunded after they perform in their bid to claim the generous prizes and awards that will be on offer – including the magnificent South Wales Miner’s Challenge Cup.
The contest takes place on Saturday 13th September.
Great atmosphere
Rob Gowing told 4BR: "As always there will be a great atmosphere and a generous prize fund on offer to the bands in what is quickly becoming one of the best lower section brass band entertainment contests in the banding calendar."
