Co-operative Funeralcare North West drop out of Grand Shield

Unforeseen player changes sees North west challenger withdraw from Grand Shield in Blackpool.

4BR has been informed that the Co-operative Funeralcare Band North West Band has announced its decision to withdraw from the Grand Shield contest at the Spring Festival in Blackpool on the 26th April.

Unforeseen changes

Band Manager Alan Smart told 4BR: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, regrettably we must withdraw from the contest. This decision has been taken following unforeseen changes in personal circumstances, which affect player availability over the coming weeks.”

Disappointment

Alan continued: “It is a huge disappointment to us. We were looking forward very much to competing again in Blackpool following our 3rd place finish in the Championship Section at the recent North West Area Contest.

We wish the organisers of the contest a successful event and the competing bands the very best of luck on the day."
