The young musicians of the Irvine & Dreghorn Youth Band recently competed against young musicians from across Scotland at the Brass at the Bards Youth Band Contest at the Robert Burns Museum in Alloway.

Splendid playing

Under the baton of conductor John Boax, they did themselves proud by claiming a Silver Award in the Novice Section, with adjudicator Nigel Boddice MBE, congratulating them on their splendid playing.

Vibrant

Based in Irvine, Scotland, the Irvine & Dreghorn organisation runs three musical arms – with the youth band forming the middle part of a trio of a senior Third Section senior outfit and a vibrant ‘Brasslets’ Beginners Band.
